About the department

In the obstetrics and gynaecology department at St. Elisabethen Hospital Frankfurt am Main, doctors support women of all ages in their particular medical needs with professional experience, advice, and action. More than 1,000 babies are born every year at the St. Elisabeth Hospital. Four state-of-the-art delivery rooms, a birthing ward and a birthing bath for water births are available for expectant mothers. All delivery rooms have direct access to the bathrooms, so patients don't have to leave the delivery room and maintain maximum intimacy. In addition, an operating room for caesarean sections is integrated into the delivery room. The department combines family and individual midwifery with first-class medical care.

The spectrum of treatment in gynaecology includes all diseases of the internal and external genital organs. The department is characterized primarily by its outstanding experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques (MIC Center), high patient satisfaction and short hospital stays. The department's surgeons perform various surgical procedures with keyhole surgery. The medical team consists of specialists with over 20 years of experience in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. The critical direction of gynaecology is reconstructive surgery for complaints of prolapse, the problem of involuntary urination, gynaecological oncology and surgical treatment of benign diseases. The department is a German Society for Urinary Incontinence consulting centre and pays much attention to this pathology. A team of gynaecologists, together with nurses, create the most comfortable conditions for women during inpatient or outpatient treatment.
