Department of neurological rehabilitation

Prof. Dr. med. Joachim Liepert
neurology, neurological rehabilitation

About the department

The department of neurological rehabilitation at Rehabilitation Clinic Schmieder Allensbach specializes in the neurological rehabilitation of patients with all nervous conditions. The department has for many years included the unit of acute neurology, which can cover the entire spectrum of urgent neurological disorders and diseases at any time. The department also consists of a full range of diagnostic equipment. A powerful 3 Tesla MRI, modern digital X-ray and a CT scanner allow very accurate diagnostics with low radiation. An experienced team of therapists (physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and neuropsychologists), nurses and medical services create a therapy program individually tailored to the patient and intensively implements it in the shortest possible time.

The department's main direction is to treat acute neurological emergencies such as stroke, epilepsy, status epilepticus, and meningitis. Since 2016, the department has also offered patients with Parkinson's disease or atypical Parkinson's syndromes intensive medical, physiotherapy, occupational, speech therapy, neuropsychological and drug treatment for two to three weeks in the neurological emergency department. The advantage for patients is that they receive the necessary treatment from experienced therapists and nurses staff, who care about providing the best quality services.
