About the clinic
The Lublin Region Oncology Center St. Jana z Dukli (COZL) stands as a monumental, visually striking marvel of total-immersion cancer eradication. Completely casting aside the somber, monochrome architectural aesthetic traditionally associated with clinical oncology, the facility features an iconic, highly recognizable multicolored exterior palette that deliberately uses environmental chromotherapy to disrupt the psychological grimness of cancer treatment. As the supreme, highly integrated oncological anchor for eastern Poland and the trans-border region, this massive public mega-complex has undergone a radical, multi-phase vertical expansion, transforming it from a regional clinic into a high-capacity diagnostic and therapeutic reactor. Here, the entire spectrum of malignant pathologies is addressed simultaneously through unified, localized pathways that eliminate the need for patients to travel to distant European centers. The complex is distinguished by its concentrated high-acuity therapeutic firepower, particularly within its elite departments of hematology and bone marrow transplantation. Operating as an absolute lifeline for the region, the facility integrates a highly sterile, aseptic transplantation grid with an advanced cellular processing laboratory, enabling clinicians to perform complex autologous and allogeneic stem cell grafts to eradicate aggressive leukemias and systemic lymphomas. This hematological vanguard works in absolute synchrony with a comprehensive radiotherapeutic arsenal featuring next-generation linear accelerators engineered for volumetric-modulated arc therapy and high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy. These systems systematically conform ionizing energy to the precise three-dimensional geometry of deep-seated tumors while completely preserving adjacent healthy organs. This is seamlessly complemented by a nuclear medicine core driven by a dual-isotope theranostic imaging matrix, allowing for simultaneous metabolic mapping and target-locked cellular radiation at the microscopic level. Chemotherapy, immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, low-molecular-weight tyrosine kinase inhibitors, radiation (IMRT, IGRT, EPID, HDR brachytherapy), and hormonal therapy are available as primary treatments. In addition to conservative treatment, the clinic provides services in plastic and reconstructive surgery; microsurgery for hand and body burns and congenital disabilities; minimally invasive, endoscopic, and laser interventions for oncological diseases of the ENT organs; and laparoscopy and extraperitoneal hernioplasty for the treatment of hernias (e-TEP technique, enhanced view). Also, a comprehensive list of services includes transplantation of bone marrow and peripheral blood hematopoietic cells in a qualified center. The high level of urological surgical treatment allows doctors to annually perform 110 radical prostatectomies, 50 cystectomies, and 120 nephrectomies by open and laparoscopic methods. As a result, the urological departments at the Oncology Clinic Lublin are the first in Poland in terms of the number and complexity of urological oncology cases. Doctors also perform diagnostic procedures in the form of biopsies (including bone marrow), trepanobiopsy, puncture of the body cavity, risk stratification of genetic determinants of diagnosed diseases in endocrinology, and radioisotope studies (scintigraphy of adrenergic tumors using MIBG and local three-phase scintigraphy of bones and the whole body with the possibility of SPECT/CT studies). In addition to classical remedies, patients have the opportunity to receive state-of-the-art treatment thanks to international multicenter clinical trials in ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancer. Also, the gynecology department takes on the challenge and has all the necessary capabilities of modern therapy for clinically advanced forms of ovarian cancer, including patients with generalized hyperplasia in the abdominal cavity (intraperitoneal perfusion chemotherapy). The Lublin Region Oncology Center St. Jana z Dukli houses highly specialized outpatient clinics and diagnostic blocks equipped with high-throughput genetic sequencing networks, enabling multidisciplinary tumor boards to screen, decode, and target familial cancer syndromes before clinical symptoms manifest. This predictive framework is coupled with high-definition, image-guided operating suites configured for radical visceral and reconstructive resections. This entire infrastructure is supported by a deep institutional focus on patient-centered supportive care, providing integrated psycho-oncology, advanced clinical nutrition, and localized pain management protocols directly at the bedside.

FAQ
Is the clinic suitable for treating immunodeficiencies?
Doctors also have extensive experience in curing primary and secondary immunodeficiencies. In particular, replacement therapy with immunoglobulins and bone marrow transplantation, followed by detailed subsequent assessment of the condition, achieves a high success rate.
Is rehabilitation available at the medical center?
Rehabilitation specialists provide comprehensive recovery services in a particular center. Patients can undergo laser and ultrasound treatment, magnetotherapy, electrical impulse stimulation, and massages. Doctors also use NeuroMobilization and myofascial pain therapy.
Does Lublin Region Oncology Center provide surgical treatment?
Surgeons have the necessary equipment to use gentle laparoscopic interventions. The department of oncourology performs the most significant number of operations in Poland on the genitourinary system in cases of oncological lesions.
How was the brachytherapy unit upgraded?
Following an extensive multi-million-dollar modernization project completed in late 2025, the brachytherapy laboratory integrated next-generation dedicated computed tomography and ultrasound imaging. These systems allow radiation oncologists to perform ultra-precise applicator mapping directly within target tumors while minimizing toxic radiation exposure to healthy neighboring tissues.
What specialized rehabilitation center opened?
The hospital launched the specialized laryngological functional diagnostics and rehabilitation center to deliver focused care for head and neck cancer survivors. A multidisciplinary panel of otolaryngologists, phoniatrists, and logopedists coordinates targeted treatments to help patients recover swallowing function, monitor for potential treatment-induced hearing loss, and rebuild vocal capabilities.
