About the hospital

Asklepios Hospital Parchim has been a famous primary care hospital since 1905. In 1998, thanks to investments, the main building was reconstructed, and a new department was built. In 2015, the clinic celebrated its 110th anniversary and leadership in medicine with high standards and highly qualified doctors. During this time, the Hospital in Parchim became a home of medical competence and cared for people.

135 beds in 7 departments are served in modern buildings with a panoramic view of the lake among numerous green parks. The clinic is a partner of the "Quality and service" program of the Association of Private Health Insurance and meets the highest quality standards in general hospital services and offers a high-quality selection of additional assistance. Also, Asklepios Hospital Parchim is the only one in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to receive the Faires PJ certificate. Furthermore, this certification provides fair conditions within the framework of the practical year, which are publicly available to interested students in cooperation with leading Rostock University.

The medical centre combines interdisciplinary knowledge, professorial level and high technology. Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgical interventions and outpatient operations are performed daily, reducing injury to healthy tissues and speedy recovery. High-precision CT, MRI, and PET technologies ensure the speed and safety of diagnosis. The high-tech emergency department is equipped with private rooms for privacy, emergency rooms and quick access to operating rooms. In addition to treatment, health lectures and promotions are held here to educate residents and visitors to the clinic. Thanks to cooperation with the university, the clinic always has the best staff and medical talents. Doctors are members of numerous associations, given the great competition, and receive grants and awards for their achievements.

Asklepios Clinic in Parchim offers a wide range of services from general and emergency therapy to highly specialized surgical treatment, oncology, obstetrics and gynaecology, and palliative medicine for children and adults. In addition, pain therapy, rehabilitation and prevention are being actively developed in the clinic as additional but necessary services.

About the city

Parchim is a small and cosy German town located in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with a population of 19,000. The city is situated south of the central terminal moraine of Pomorie between two lakes, Sternberg and Mecklenburg. The Elde and Walker rivers also flow through the town, which splits into several branches and forms huge islands with recreational areas. Woods and meadows surround the lake to the north and east.

The urban development consists of tiny brick houses surrounded by gardens with neatly trimmed trees. The romantic streets are paved with cobblestones and are broad. In the central part of the city is the gothic parish church of St. George in 1289, which has remnants of medieval painting inside, a neo-gothic altarpiece by Gotthilf Ludwig Meckel (end of the 19th century) and the parish church of St. Mary 14 Art. There are many original places in Parchim and the surrounding area, such as a theatre and a museum, but in addition to this, once a year in the city's centre there is a music festival called "Music mile", where international bands and individual musicians perform.

A cloth factory was built as early as 1819, followed by a paper factory, a Bauer machine factory in 1858 and a furnace factory in 1874. In addition, the airport and the railway determined the city's development. Asklepios Hospital Parchim, serving the population for more than 117 years, is also a city symbol and determines its development. Despite its age, the hospital is considered a high-tech centre specializing in emergency medical care but also gathers neighbouring regions to treat chronic diseases and surgical interventions.

Among the greenery and rivers, fresh air and low-rise houses, you can truly enjoy being in the silence outside the big city, spend active time on the beaches, observe the original wildlife and dance at the music festival - all in one place, Parchim.
