Department of oncology

Prof. Dr. med. Elke Jager
internal medicine, oncology, haematology

About the department

The oncology department at Academic Hospital zum Heiligen Geist Frankfurt am Main treats patients with tumour and haematological diseases and conducts follow-up care. In the department, patients with malignant and benign neoplastic diseases and haematological disorders can benefit from the competence and experience of a large oncology centre known outside of Frankfurt. Doctors offer a full range of diagnostic measures, anticancer therapy and postoperative care. In addition, the department conducts research in tumour immunology and therefore offers treatment in clinical trials. German Cancer Society certified the oncology department, thereby confirming the professionalism of doctors and the high level of medical care.

Highly specialized doctors focus on the most common types of cancer, such as lung cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, and colon and rectum cancer. The most modern methods are used for treatment, including antibody and bisphosphonate therapy. Cancer is a profound turning point in the lives of patients and their families, so the department offers a variety of psycho-oncological treatment options.
