diagnostic and interventional radiology

About the department

The department of diagnostic and interventional radiology employs 9 doctors and 5 assistant doctors, 16 medical-technical radiology assistants (MTRA), and 5 employees in the registration and office. The department is a central diagnostic service provider and an essential partner in the interdisciplinary treatment of various diseases (e.g. radiological interventions, clinical conferences). There are multiple possibilities for diagnosis, thanks to many modern devices available. These include conventional X-ray diagnostics, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound diagnostics (sonography). All devices are state-of-the-art and particularly low-radiation. Therefore, the observance of radiation protection is a particular concern for the staff.

The focal points include radiological skeletal, spinal column and tumour diagnostics, and radiological heart and prostate imaging. In addition to the purely diagnostic procedures, the department treats a wide variety of diseases with radiological interventions (minimally invasive interventions).
