PD. Dr. med. Staffan Vandersee
dermatology, allergology and venereology

About the department

The department of dermatology, allergology and venereology serves the entire spectrum of dermatology from the most modern surgical and laser treatment methods to classic therapy methods and dermatological emergency care. Seven specialists and six assistant doctors work in the department. The number of beds is 20 (5 of which are in the day clinic). Furthermore, several special laboratories are attached to our department to ensure a rapid, comprehensive, and reliable diagnosis of allergic, environmental, or pathogen-related diseases. In addition to inpatient treatment, pre-and aftercare is provided in the newly designed outpatient wing with an attached spacious operating area, a separate proctological treatment room, and a modern light treatment unit. This enables radiation therapies (UVA, UVB, SUP, UVB 311nm) and balneotherapies (bath PUVA therapy) at a high-quality level. Specialists also cooperate with external partners, for example, in radiation therapy with Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch or in early tumour detection, treatment, and aftercare with the skin tumour centre of University Hospital Charite Berlin.

Special care priorities of the department include allergology, diagnosis and therapy of all forms of skin cancer, plastic reconstructive treatment of skin tumours, and tropical dermatology. To do justice to the wide range of dermatological diseases and to be able to provide patients with the best possible care, the treatment areas are set around allergology, dermatological oncology, operative dermatology, andrology phlebology, mycology, proctology, and tropical medicine.
