paediatrics, neonatology

About the department

The department of neonatology and paediatrics at Academic Regio Hospital Pinneberg treats various acute diseases in children and young people aged 0 to 18 years. Based on the department, there is also an intensive care unit for newborns, part of the hospital's maternity hospital. This unit is equipped with incubators (incubators), heated beds, respirators, a first aid kit, and ultrasound and X-ray equipment. Paediatricians and neonatal nurses are on duty 24 hours a day, which makes it possible to provide a high level of safety at the birth of a child. In addition, children and adolescents treated in other specialised departments, such as after ENT operations, surgeries (e.g. appendicitis) and orthopaedic care after fractures, are under the supervision of pediatric nurses and, if necessary, paediatricians of the department. Thus, cooperation with the clinic's departments allows for a comprehensive assessment, care and best care for children and young people. It should be noted that during the entire inpatient treatment, children can stay with their parents in the same ward for a comfortable stay in the hospital.

High-qualified doctors of the department specialise in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal tract diseases, urinary and respiratory system diseases, infections, neurological disorders, and congenital anomalies. In addition, medical devices and systems offer all the necessary options for differentiated diagnostics.
