About the department

The department of gynaecology and obstetrics at Academic Regio Hospital Pinneberg offers a full range of diagnoses and treatments for women with reproductive diseases and provides childbirth. The department has been one of 100 in Germany to be certified as a "baby-friendly maternity clinic" according to the strict rules of the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund. The team deals with high-quality standards and promotes the bond between mother and child with a patient-oriented working method. With around 1,300 newborns a year, the department of gynaecology and obstetrics is one of the largest in Germany. The department also includes a certified Breast Cancer Centre where patients receive comprehensive care under one roof, from diagnostics to surgical treatment, post-radiation and oncological therapy. Additional attention is given to simultaneous plastic and reconstructive surgeries after breast and gynaecological malignancy. All patients are treated according to the guidelines of the medical societies with the latest diagnostic and surgical procedures.

The medical team treats and operates on benign and malignant diseases of the uterus, ovaries and breast. In addition, the clinic offers diagnostics and treatment for bladder weakness, prolapse of the uterus and vagina, sterility disorders, and plastic-aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgeries.
