Dr. Libor Musil
neurology, neurological rehabilitation

About the department

The orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation department at Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Clinic Malvazinky Prague offers diagnostics and treatment for many orthopaedic and neurological conditions, including spinal and brain injuries, stroke, and multiple sclerosis. The multidisciplinary medical team consists of orthopedists, neurologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and nurses. The department's goal is to provide individually designed medicine to improve patients' quality of life and independence. It can be challenging for patients and their families to cope with neurological disorders and trauma, so the department also provides psychological counselling. In 2013, a completely new pavilion equipped with modern equipment was completed in the clinic. The department has 60 adjustable beds, new high-quality physiotherapy devices and a multimedia system (TV, radio, internet) that increase comfort.

The basis of rehabilitation treatment is individual physiotherapy and subsequent training of the client or his family members. Individual physiotherapy is based on the modern concept of this field, using the principles of clinical neurophysiology and developmental kinesiology. A wide range of hydrotherapy treatments, including a rehabilitation pool and fully equipped electrotherapy, are also used for comprehensive client care. An essential part of inpatient rehabilitation care in occupational therapy is provided to clients with various physical, sensory or mental impairments. Doctors also pay special attention to the rehabilitation program for patients with amputation.
