About the department

The department of general pediatric surgery at Memorial Sisli Hospital Istanbul offers a full range of modern surgical interventions for treating various pathologies in children. Surgeons of the medical institution also perform surgical treatment of congenital pathologies detected in the fetus at the stage of fetal development. The specialists of the department accept small patients aged 0 to 14 years. With experienced professionals, modern technology and approaches suitable for child psychology, the department aims to treat children comfortably, painlessly and safely. Children's metabolism, body structure and psychology are entirely different from adults. Therefore, surgical applications performed in childhood are planned individually by surgeons according to the characteristics of the children. The health and well-being of children are a priority for the department's doctors. Each department's medical team member is sensitive to small patients and creates a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. Thanks to this, the child feels as comfortable as possible throughout the entire therapeutic process.

The department's main activities are non-cardiac thoracic surgery, pediatric urology, oncological surgery, surgery of the digestive system, pediatric endocrine surgery and pediatric gynaecology. Both simple routine operations and advanced interventions are performed following current clinical protocols. In addition, the highly qualified surgeons of the department are proficient in minimally invasive treatment methods, including endoscopic procedures and robotic and laparoscopic surgery.
