Department of endovascular and interventional neurosurgery
The department of endovascular and interventional neurosurgery at International Neuroscience Institute Hanover (INI) provides a full range of services to diagnose and treat neurovascular diseases. The department has a robust base of state-of-the-art equipment, thanks to which the medical team can conduct high-quality diagnostic tests. For example, the department is one of the few in Europe that treats an aneurysm of the vein of Galen in children, which is a rare congenital pathology. With the help of devices such as a 1.5Т MRI scanner, 128-slice CT scanner, functional magnetic resonance imaging machine, and 3D rotational angiography system, doctors can make a diagnosis at the earliest stages and immediately start treating the patient. In addition, the department uses a unique system for archiving images, with the help of which doctors from other hospital departments have quick access to the patient's diagnostic studies. Similarly, doctors from partner clinics can access the images if patients need a second opinion.
The key focus is the endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenal malformations, and some types of nervous system tumours. Experienced doctors successfully use interventional neurosurgery in their practice, allowing gentle, precise, minimally invasive operations.
