Karlsruhe is a reasonably young city located in southwest Germany, on the territory of the federal state of Baden-Wurtenburg. The Municipal Hospital of Karlsruhe, founded in 1907 in the city's northwest, is the largest hospital in the Middle-Upper Rhine region. Since 1995, it has been adjoined by a private cardiac surgery clinic, part of the Helios Clinic Group.
