About the department

The department of dermatology, venerology and allergology at the University Hospital Wurzburg is one of the largest and most traditional skin centres in Germany that deals with the entire spectrum of skin diseases. The department offers patients targeted diagnostics and innovative treatment methods with competent consultations in specialized polyclinics, inpatient units, and the day hospital. The high quality of medical services is supported by a modernly equipped operating room, diagnostic laboratories, a certified skin cancer centre and an allergy centre. In addition, more than 3,000 patients with skin cancer are treated annually at the interdisciplinary oncology centre coordinated by the department. The goal of the doctors of the department is to offer our patients care based on the modern level of knowledge, patient-oriented and humane.

The department's primary focus is treating inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and eczema, allergies, skin infections, mucous membranes, nails and hair disorders, and skin cancer. Dermatologists also have exceptional experience treating childhood dermatological conditions such as birthmarks, skin tumours, age spots and skin pigmentation disorders. Doctors use only the most innovative skin treatment methods in their practice, including laser technology, phototherapy and cryotherapy.
