About the department

The neurological rehabilitation department at Rehabilitation Center Abromiskes provides high-quality rehabilitation for patients with neurological diseases of any severity, complications of neurological disorders and comorbidities. Rehabilitation programs are individually adapted for each child, depending on the clinical indications and goals of rehabilitation. The patient's health is cared for by doctors and specialists from various fields: neurologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, clinical speech therapists, social workers and caring nurses. Doctors specialise in the neurological rehabilitation of patients with hypoxic changes in the brain, ischemic strokes, intracranial haemorrhages, conditions after meningitis and encephalitis, Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.

The department has modern rehabilitation methods that allow the patient to partially or entirely reintegrate into everyday life-restoring mobility, speech, swallowing cognitive functions, and self-care skills (personal hygiene, eating, etc.). Treatment and rehabilitation programs for neurological patients are based on a three or four-week rehabilitation, during which the patient is provided with recommendations on maintaining the achieved results upon returning home. In addition, the patient and his family members are taught the principles of healthy eating and ways to maintain physical activity and lower cholesterol levels.
