Department of gynaecology

Prof. Dr. med. Friedrich Wolff

About the department

The department of gynaecology at PAN Clinic Cologne specializes in the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological diseases. Doctors of the department are MIС III certified by the Working Group on Gynecological and Obstetric Endoscopy (AGE), which confirms their high qualifications. The department uses the most modern medical procedures and doctors' experience to diagnose and treat specific women's complaints. Most operations in gynaecology can be performed on an outpatient basis, so you can leave the department after 2-6 hours accompanied. However, the patients can stay in the inpatient unit at request, where friendly medical staff will take care of their comfortable stay.

The department uses endoscopic techniques in almost all surgical procedures. Thanks to the development of special optics and instruments, it is now possible to insert small tubes ("trocars") and perform the same operations under the vision that previously required large skin incisions. The skin incisions are now only a few millimetres long. Endoscopic methods allow the treatment of most female reproductive system diseases, benign tumours of the uterus and cervix, and endometriosis. In addition, laser therapy, minor surgery and plastic surgery are also used.
