orthopaedics, traumatology, hand surgery

About the department

The department of orthopaedics, trauma and hand surgery at Helios Hospital Krefeld deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all musculoskeletal system diseases in adults and children, injuries of any severity, arthroplasty, and hand and foot surgery. The main directions of the department are the treatment of diseases of the spine. The department has all modern methods for accurate diagnosis, including CT, MRI of the spine, discography, and myelography. Once the diagnosis is made, doctors prescribe the optimal treatment, first of all trying to eliminate the symptoms with the help of conservative therapy. If the patient needs surgery, surgeons practice various surgical techniques, ranging from minimally invasive and microsurgical interventions to complex reconstructive interventions. In addition, the department performs many surgeries for the replacement of endoprostheses and revision interventions.

Each patient is an "individual case" and should be evaluated and treated accordingly. The department offers a full range of services in treating hand and foot injuries, reimplantation and treatment of limitations caused by accidents. In addition, the department's medical team has a unique experience in the treatment of orthopaedic diseases in children and adolescents. Professional physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and neuro physiotherapy are carried out to restore mobility and alleviate pain in adults and children.
