About the department

The department of dermatology and allergology with skin cancer centre at Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch is a top-class medical facility for treating skin diseases. Around 1,000 patients with skin diseases are treated annually by the local team of professionals. It is recognized as a Certified Center for Skin Cancer. All therapy options for skin cancer treatment are offered in cooperation with the department of oncology. The services also include advanced procedures such as electrochemotherapy (ECT) and extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP), iontophoresis, light therapy/testing, negative pressure pump for wound healing, biosurgery, and others. The rooms on the ward have modern sanitary facilities, radio, and television.

All types of skin diseases, allergies, and autoimmune diseases are diagnosed at the department. Complex wounds, as well as chronic skin diseases, are one of the priorities. A comprehensive treatment plan is designed following evidence-based guidelines, including surgery, psychological counselling, and post-hospital social support. In the case of malignant and benign skin cancer, participation in clinical trials of novel therapy methods is also possible.
