About the department

The neurosurgery department at Carolina Medical Center Gdansk offers conservative and surgical care for disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system, paying particular attention to back problems. The department's neurosurgeons have unique experience in complex reconstructive and revision surgeries performed to continue or correct previous surgical treatment. The department has a fully equipped diagnostic centre. The clinic's imaging laboratory is equipped with new CT, MRI, ultrasound and X-ray machines. For high-quality laboratory research, the clinic cooperates with the best laboratories in the country. The medical team uses 3D technology in complex cases, thanks to which it is possible to plan surgical infusions and design surgical instruments and orthopaedic implants.

The department specializes in treating all back pain syndromes caused by a herniated or protruded disc, inflammatory changes, osteoporosis, tumours, etc. Thanks to intensive interdisciplinary collaboration with the departments of orthopaedics and traumatology, patients receive the best treatment, which is carried out following the modern standards of professional medical societies.
